Knowing what to do and where to turn to can be hard and stressful. We are here to help.  You and your little are the heart of our practice. Family-education & collaboration with you is what helps us implement therapy that is neuro-affirming, child-led, fun, & functional! Our primary goals are to make you feel supported and to help your little bloom into all they can be.

Locations & Ages:

We currently do our best work with littles 18 months through school-age. We offer teletherapy services in addition to in-person therapy services in CT and FL. In-person services are offered in-home throughout much of Connecticut. We can also offer services in the community (park, store, etc.) and your child’s school or daycare center in some cases. Feel free to contact us to talk more about this option!

Teletherapy Services:

We complete both assessment and intervention services via teletherapy in a variety of locations and are currently expanding! Oftentimes, in-person therapy sessions are accompanied by virtual parent education sessions to promote carryover of skills. Want to learn more? Check out our free handout below!

How It Works…

01. Initial Phone Consultation

Our first step is a phone consultation where we will talk about your concerns and questions and determine whether an assessment or screening is an appropriate next step.

02. Interview & Assessment

If we determine that an evaluation is appropriate, an interview and assessment(s) sessions will be scheduled. We always complete a full interview with the caregivers in addition to the direct evaluation to make sure that we are getting the best picture of your little. A full report and post-evaluation meeting are also provided following each evaluation. This meeting is a time to answer any questions you might have and talk about the next steps.

03. Treatment Plan & Recommendations

Following the evaluation, we will work together as a team to develop goals and objectives (shorter term steps towards our long term goal) that are functional for your little, developmentally and clinically appropriate, and that address your personal goals and concerns for your little. Family is at the heart of our practice, so the treatment plan always includes dedicated time with caregivers to talk about current strategies and progress.

90-day Review:

We offer a complimentary 90-day review meeting for all of our clients. This is a meeting where we will talk about how things have been going, review goals and progress and discuss what changes we want to make as a team moving forward.

Still Have Questions?

Give us a call or send an email!

We are here to support you. It can be tricky and overwhelming at times to sort through all of the information that you come across. If you just need a person-person interaction to ask questions and talk through your options, we are here to help!

the heart of A to b speech therapy…

Family Involvement & Education

One of the biggest drivers for opening this practice was to be able to connect with families and have the time to collaborate and work together as a true team. Regardless of the treatment plan and intensity that is recommended for your little, dedicated debrief/learning time is embedded in the plan. This time is specifically designed to review the progress that your little is making, talk about changes that you would like to see, and work on learning strategies that can be implemented at home.

Fun, Functional, and Individualized

We value therapy that is neuro-affirming, child-led, and fun! We believe that our littles learn through play (even our ‘older littles’) and one of the things that we focus on in our practice is using play-based therapy that allows our littles to feel heard while learning language in a naturalistic way. We individualize therapy based on the child’s interests and the goals that are functional and impactful for their success at the stage of life that they are in!

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) as a private-pay client through the No Surprises Act. This paperwork lists the estimated costs of services and related costs. Each private pay client will receive a GFE document that outlines estimated costs of services.

More information: Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. An updated GFE can be requested at any time. Be sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For more information, please see this website.
