A quick reading tip!! Head to our blog to learn more about storybook reading with your littles from a SLP perspective!

🗨 What books do your littles love reading over and over??

Reading the same books over and over again can be helpful for your little because they get exposed to the words, sentences, and concepts multiple times and repetition is KEY for language and vocabulary development!

💫 There are so many different things that you can do during story time to make it interesting and switch it up every time. Here are a few things to try:

talk about the characters in the story

Create a story yourself with some of the places, concepts, or ideas

go on a ‘story hunt’ and look for certain words that begin with a sound or certain characters

talk about different items on each page when you read- talk about what your little knows about it and how it relates to your own lives!

Incorporate movement- add movement or gestures as you read

Add sound effects and play- incorporate a play routine as you read or incorporate toys as props and extend the story!
